Category 5 Cyclone Yasi has caused a lot of damages to houses and people's belonging. I think many tourists to Tropical North Queensland would have cancelled their booking.
I'm now in Cairns for a 3-week holiday. I've thought about cancelling it too when I heard about the storm but since I got a friend coming very far from overseas, we have decided not to amend the journey.
Luckily Cairns is not very affected very much. The beaches are a bit muddy and with a lot of seaweeds. But other than that, everything is fine. Since there are only a few tourists, we've got the whole beach to ourselves yesterday, really exceptional.
I hope I can do some writing...
