Dress for Dating Success
An old post - Some romance stories are so predictable. When the heroine has a date, she will go shopping for frock. Yuck, can the authors be more original? Or is it the media which makes us obsessed with dressing for a date?
Here is an article from Sydney Morning Herald on How to Dress for Dating Success.

Blonde has more fun?
Saw a gorgeous girl the other day. That suddenly made me think about the "myth" of blondes having more fun.
Here is interesting information about this argument.
I've never felt the need to dye my hair. Do I have fun? Hmm...
Here is interesting information about this argument.
In a groundbreaking study recently published by the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins, scientists have discovered that while blondes have nearly 380% more sex (of all kinds) than other color haired people, they do not, in fact, have more fun.
The Mayo Clinic / Johns Hopkins report broke down “fun” along sexual lines, as that is commonly what blondes are referring to when they speak of “fun.” They discovered that blondes were ten times more likely to consent to give fellatio than were their brunette, redhead, or dye-headed sisters ... They were seven times more likely to engage in “doggy-style” sex, and five times as likely to do it in some kind of spectacular manner, such as in a public place or swinging from a specially-built trapeze.

Happy 2015
Happy 2015! Sorry I wasn't very active last year.
I have only published a short story collection called My Darcy Exhilarates...
Unfortunately, there isn't much progress with Darcy Chilling Proposal. I did fix the plot issues. Hopefully, I will start writing some more.
Below is the link for the new book. Happy reading and thanks for your support!

Best wishes from steamy Darcy
Dear friends, readers, and lovers of steamy Darcy, I would like to thank you for your friendship and support in 2013.
I am relieved that I did not resort to getting Caroline to nurse Darcy back to his health after I blasted him into a coma in The Angel Sees Grey. I’d like to write more mystery in the future such as the sleuth duo Prince Darcy and his private eye. But I must return to Darcy Chilling Proposal soon and let D&E solve the duplicity in the Bingley/Hurst household. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and thank you again!

Damper Baby
I was talking to a friend about going to Asia last month. Here are two photos of the damper babies from Taiwan tallest building Taipei 101. Do you know what damper baby is?
It's a nickname given to some engineering structure to stablise the building. Aren't they cute?

Hello stranger!
Hello again, I've been off the radar for awhile. Went to Asia and then got a nasty flu. Now I'm back. Here is my latest baby, worked with two friends to bring it to fruit. I haven't forgotten Darcy's Chilling Proposal and another non-Darcy stoy. They are in my mind, all the time.

Steady Friendship
Pride and Prejudice talks about friendship a lot, especially how friends should or could influence each other.
Mr. Darcy influenced Bingley to leave Jane, in the name of friendship, because he felt she didn't truly love Bingley. Should Bingley have listened to his friend's advice? Was Darcy too presumptuous to interfere? Could someone amiable be friend with someone arrogant and unpleasant?
Charlotte ignored Elizabeth's words and found herself married the silly Mr. Collins with contentment. Should people allow different in temperament when we give out advice to friends.
We have many friends now, on Facebook. Have you thought about what your updates and views will affect your friends?

First Loves Blogfest
I'm happy to join Alex Cavanaugh's Four First Loves Blogfest today. We'll be talking about our first love in movie, song/band, book and person. It sounded easy when I registered with this challenge but coming to write about it, I find that my memory is failing me. But after a bit of digging around in my memory bank, I've selected the following to share with you.
Song: Interlude (Time is like a dream)
I don't think I've seen this movie but the romantic voice of the singer and the simplicity of the lyrics have made a lasting impression in my mind. "What seems like an interlude now could be the beginning of love..." Life is short and we should treasure every moment together with our loved ones.
Movie: Somewhere In Time
This movie explains why I love time travel stories so much. There are so many possibilities if time travel is feasible in life. This is a very romantic movie and both Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour were wonderful in it.
Book: Pride and Prejudice
I think you won't be surprised that Pride and Prejudice was my first love. This is the first book I bought using money I earned from my first summer job. I heard a radio drama of it when I was younger but it ended in the middle of the story, with Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet tore apart with the news of elopement of Elizabeth's sister. I often wondered why the story felt unfinished and I was happy to find the book in a library, giving a very happy and satisfying ending. I loved it so much that when I earned some money from my first summer job, I bought my first copy of it. Since then, I've bought several different editions and it remains my favourite book. Why? The constancy of love is most appealing to me.
Person
Who is my first love? Mother? Father? Siblings? Boyfriends? Hmm, difficult to choose. But one of the best memories I had was playing on my father's lap. I pretended to be a shop keeper and tried to sell food to myself. It sounded silly now but I think I had heaps of fun then. No wonder I love food so much...

Lovely Canadian
I've thanked my American, French, British and German readers before. Today it's time to thank my Canadian readers. Over at Smashwords, who sell my books to Sony, Kobo etc, they have improved their reporting and I can now see who bought my books in Canada.
Recently there were readers from ON, AB, QC, MB, NS buying my books. I've only been to Toronto some 15 years ago, in the deep of winter. Perhaps it's time to see more of Canada. I hope in summer this time.
Dear lovely Canadian, thank you!

Convenience and wastefulness
I've got some very old stuff at home and office, like my mac is still OS X Tiger. My Dell is Windows XP. My Toyota is over 10 years old.
I've been using my scanner this morning. It doesn't have the feeding function. So for over 20 pages, I've to do it one by one. It has taken me forever to do one scan. Nowadays the multifunction printer and scanners are really cheap. But when the machine is not yet broken, I just hate to buy new and become wasteful.
Do you still have some "historic" stuff you loathe to part with?

Spell check
Do you rely on spell check a lot when you write? I must confess I'm very lazy nowadays. If I can't spell a word, I'll just type whatever similar and hope for the best during the spell check.
Yesterday, I was using Adobe InDesign software, which is a publishing software, and I let this old habit to creep in. But InDesign is not very smart with it's spell check function. At least it doesn't know the difference between meaningful and meanful. I guess their dictionary is rather mean...

Learning new skills
Have you been learning any new skills lately?
We've a change of staff in the office and I've been filling in to do simple graphic design job. It's amazing what the Internet has about anything and everything.
I've learned to touch up photos, change background etc by watching instructions on YouTube.
What do you want to learn in the next month, like giving your loved one a lovely massage? *wink*

Crazy time
It's been a crazy week. The first two days. things were very quiet at work but I didn't have motivation to do anything, like creating or writing. The shoulder pain (which you have been hearing a lot from me, sorry to bore you) is giving me grief.
Then Wednesday, things come in three, four to six. And I've been pulling overtime every day since. And this weekend, I'll need to work too.
When my mind is full of work, my writing has to be pushed back. Only if I could fit in more of my characters in my brain right now...

Shoulder pain
I've very bad left shoulder pain for the past month and it affects my sleeping. After ultrasound and X-ray, the doctor said it's subacromial bursitis.
According to wikipedia, subacromial bursitis is a condition caused by inflammation of the bursa that separates the superior surface of the supraspinatus tendon (one of the four tendons of the rotator cuff) from the overlying coraco-acromial ligament, acromion, coracoid (the acromial arch) and from the deep surface of the deltoid muscle. The subacromial bursa helps the motion of the supraspinatus tendon of the rotator cuff in activities such as overhead work.
Ok, it's a bit too difficult for me to understand what it is. But suffice to say, I'm not looking forward to physiotherapy or injection. Maybe I can pray it to go away. But it's affecting my work and writing too. Time to take some actions!

Housekeeping
Today I'm less busy and have done some housekeeping:
- deleted some of the blog buddies who are inactive from the side panel
- replaced them with new buddies
- scheduled a week's blog posts
- visited friends' blogs and commented
Next, I'll need to update some of the story listing in the website. They are small tasks, but essential.

Resting
Sorry, I'm not around much lately. I've been very busy at work and on Wednesday I absent-mindedly bumped into the car in front when I was driving.
Luckily no one was hurt but the front bumper of my new car was a mess.
Time to think less about work and rest a bit.

Pity of the heavy rain. I love a BBQ. Happy Australia Day!
I wouldn't mind trying one of these, I mean the floating thongs, one day. They look quite comfy.
